Here is an assignment on image segmentation that I am trying to solve.
I have not been able to understand the order of things to solve.Papers that I came across increase my confusion as they are focused on different aspects.
Implement the GrabCut algorithm for binary image segmentation. You
may use the in-built optimizers for Min-Cut/GMMs but the graph
formulation and the iterative process must be implemented by you.

https://cvg.ethz.ch/teaching/cvl/2012/grabcut-siggraph04.pdf
http://www.csd.uwo.ca/~yuri/Papers/iccv01.pdf
In which order do I read these ? How do we break this into smaller tasks?
I intend to use Python and avoid OpenCV implementation. I do understand MinCut/MaxFlow algorithms but have limited understanding of GMM and statistics in general.
