I'd like to write a simple compositor. My goal is to be able to move windows around and render the whole screen with as little effort as possible.

I'm planning to use Qt5 to draw something. Qt has a decent amount of abstraction for X11 (XCB) and I'd like to reuse as much code as possible.

I can easily get an XCB connection, but would love to use stuff like QXcbScreen as it would reduce the amount of direct interaction with XCB.

I'm also afraid that it might be not too simple to pass Qt an OpenGL context obtained externally - it would be nicer if I could just reuse the one Qt creates.

Is there any way to use the XCB integration plugin in my project?

I found qt5-xcb-private-headers (used by deepin), but can't find any doc for it, nor a way to convert QPlatform objects into QXcb ones.
