I want to put a transparent animated GIF on an image.
Spent some time searching for the solution but could not get any proper one.
The nearest solution was moviepy
where I was able to show the transparent animated GIF on a static image but then it was not a full fledged solution
because it just let the user set the opacity of one of the layer, either front layer or back layer.
Would appreciate if someone could help me on this!
from moviepy.editor import *
frontLayerGif = VideoFileClip("front_layer.gif")
backLayerGif = (ImageClip("bg.png").set_duration(frontLayerGif.duration)
.set_opacity(.5))
final_clip = CompositeVideoClip([backLayerGif , frontLayerGif ])
final_clip.write_gif("newgif.gif")
python python-imaging-library animated-gif moviepy
