staying in a lot of AirBnB over the next year and was curious about best practices for detecting hidden cameras. My typical method thus far is
run netdiscover , look for anything odd
follow up with nmap on any ip that is eyebrow raising
possibly run wireshark to check packets from various ips
My questions are:
any better methods im not thinking of
any obvious OS or manufactures I should watch out for
Anything specific in wireshark i should keep an eye out for ?
Thanks everyone
Edit: one thing i forgot to mention, in Europe I see a lot of
192.168.0.1 cc:35:40 15 882 Technicolor CH USA
192.168.0.2 cc:35:40 7 294 Technicolor CH USA
192.168.0.3 cc:35:40 1 42 Technicolor CH USA
192.168.81.1 cc:35:40 1 42 Technicolor CH USA
I get that technicolor makes routers, but why so many ips on a single network ?
security ubuntu wireshark ip-camera nmap

I'm voting to close this question as off-topic because it is not a programming question. Maybe look at Information Security (but read their help carefully first to check the question is suitable)
