You should open your MainActivity then finish your second activity

Intent intent = new Intent(this, MainActivity.class);
startActivity(intent);
finish();

Then you should set your theme before super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);

protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) 
 setYourTheme();
 super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
