I have an application instance running in a Server Farm and setting up URL rewrite to the server farm seems to work fine and content is being served directly based on the inbound rules provided.
However, one problem seems to occur when requesting for a path that should return a response header of Content-Type: application/octet-stream
. It returns a 404 and a response header of Content-Type: text/html
.
If I hit the server locally and by pass the URL Rewrite rules, it return the proper response header and the file gets downloaded. I looked up Outbound rules (I don't have any) but am not clear why my response headers are being overwritten if I have not specified any outbound rules.
