I make a floating widget service like Facebook Messenger chat head which act like a shortcut to one of my activity when pressed.
I tested in three conditions:
- press the widget at home screen
- press the widget on top of other apps
- close the my apps in recent list and press the widget on any screen
For the 2nd and 3rd test case, it manage to launch the activity instantly and display the screen that I want. However, for the first test case, it always delay up to 4-5 seconds only the activity will be launch.
I already tried to modify the startActivity() when on press in the floating widget service, such as set the flag of the intent. I'm not sure why the launching of activity will be so slow on the home screen.
