We have a Windows service from which we expose some performance counters. User that runs the service was in Administrators group until recently. Once removed, we are not getting any errors updating the counters, but we get always 0 as current value.
We tried to add the user to "Performance Log Users" & "Performance Monitor Users", rebooted the machine, but still we are getting no readings
PerformanceCounter counter = Counters.Find(item => item.CounterName == counterName);
if (counter != null)
counter.ReadOnly = false;
counter.Increment();
Anyone has ideas how to make it work, without using Admin group? We are not allowed to use it, company policy.
