I have the following middleware in my express app. In the else I am trying to serve a static site but the browser just keeps loading until it times-out

app.get('*', (req, res) => 
 const isBot = detectBot(req.headers['user-agent']);
 if (isBot) 
 console.log('bot detected', bot, agent);
 else 
 console.log(' No Bot Detected '.bgMagenta.white.bold);
 express.static(path.join(__dirname, '/../dist/awesome-seo/'))
 
);

if i replace all of the above with the following -- all is good. But i need to conditionally do this (thats why i changed it to the above).

app.use(express.static(path.join(__dirname, '/../dist/awesome-seo/')));

how should i re-write the first snippet to optionally serve with express.static
