I already have a dsn connection setup to a an SQL server. I connect using:

library(RODBC)
conn <- odbcConnect(dsn = "my_db",
uid = "uid",
pwd = "pwd")

I'd like to use the pool package to look after connections within a shiny app. I tried this:

library(pool)
pool <- dbPool(
odbc::odbc(),
dsn = "my_db",
uia = "uid",
pwd = "pwd"
)

But I get an error:

Error: nanodbc/nanodbc.cpp:950: 08001: [unixODBC][FreeTDS][SQL Server]Unable to connect to data source

I think perhaps I need to replace the odbc::odbc() with something but I can't figure it out. I found this reference but it didn't help.
