I'm trying to get my head around a rather large solution and I find that Visual Studio's CodeMap feature to be an invaluable aid.
However I'd like to take sections of the generated Codemap and from this, generate some pretty documentation from it. Ideally it seems sensible to me that it should be possible to import the .dgml into Visio, but instead I'm manually re-created a copy of it in Visio by hand.
Does anyone know if such a thing exists?
If not, I might set my next project as writing a DGML to VSDX converter.

@MichalStefanow I don't really understand your point. It is not Angelos question and quite likely he/she doesn't care about the answer so directing them to the place with the question is better than asking it here.

You need to use an intermediate format, you can create the SVG file with this add-in. No real idea how well this works.

I may not have completely understood the question, but at a first glance the task seems rather trivial.
Generating graphs from data in Visio is easy and can be implemented in several environments (VBA, Visual Studio, Python, ... etc.).
For my part, I'm on the Python trail for some months now and it would be my tool of choice, because the format conversions are so easily available. My latest exercise of generating graphs from data can be seen here (http://visguy.com/vgforum/index.php?topic=6914.0).
For your case I would load the DGML file using one of the many XML libraries.
Iterate over the nodes and draw for each node a rectangle in Visio, populate it with the nodes properties, then link the rectangles to depict the graph.
If you provide more details about the data and the expect graphic, I could try to set up something.
