I have my Java 8 runtime and I am using JSP servlets.
app.html
is a static HTML file on my server mapped to: mydomain.com/app.html
This is a fragment from my web.xml
file:
<servlet>
<servlet-name> app-serv </servlet-name>
<jsp-file> /app.html </jsp-file>
</servlet>
<servlet-mapping>
<servlet-name> app-serv </servlet-name>
<url-pattern> /app-servlet/ </url-pattern>
</servlet-mapping>
However, when I go to /app-servlet/
, it says: Error: Server Error
I checked the logs and the error is: javax.servlet.ServletContext log: No runtime JspServlet available for /app-servlet/
What am I doing wrong?

An HTML file is not a JSP file. JSP files are compiled to Servlets, which is how a JSP file can act as a servlet. Static file are not compiled to Servlets. Rename file toapp.jsp
