We've just migrated our Magento2 store from an Apache based webserver to an NGINX based server.

Our shop works great, however we have a Sub-directory to which we manually upload PDF files, and for some reason this sub-directory is not being seen or visible / returning 404 errors.

Our Magento root folder us under /var/www/html/ and our PDF directory would be under /var/www/html/PDFs/

From some research online I've tried to add the following to our nginx.conf.sample:

 location /PDFs/
root /var/www/html/PDFs/;
index index.php index.html index.htm;
try_files $uri $uri/ /index.php?q=$uri&$args;

However I am still getting the same 404 errors when trying to access the PDF files.

Some expert help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

  • You have included /PDFs/ in the path twice. Try: root /var/www/html; instead. Also, the config sample you provide does not generate a 404 response, so there may be other things wrong with your configuration.
