By using R, I read in the main webpage I am interested in:

webpage <-read_html("http://www.fao.org/geonetwork/srv/en/main.home")

and then used

webpage %>%html_nodes(".arrow") 

which generated 27 xml_nodeset:

xml_nodeset (27) [1] n

... [2] ...more... ....

If I click a link (represented as above in a div tag) on the left window, an onclick action runs and as a result I get few pages in the right window.

I tried

webpage %>%html_nodes(".arrow") %>% html_nodes('<div class="arrow" onclick="runCategorySearch("Agriculture");" style="cursor:hand;cursor:pointer">Agriculture and Livestock<br>n</div>')

but got error: Error in tokenize(css) : Unexpected character '<' found at position 1
