I have a certain issue with SVG image embedded in different elements on the HTML web page. The same SVG element is embedded as follows:

<img src="gwidget.svg">
<object data="gwidget.svg"></object>

The root element consists of multiple <g> subelements with <circle> and <path> inside them. <path> has a class with translate and scale attributes as transform style.

The issue arises with the <object> element when I use the browser zoom on Chrome. The path element gets misplaced and even returning the browser zoom to the original value doesn't help. The strange thing is that opening the DevTools and turning the class attribute on and off repairs the issue.

The following problem doesn't appear for SVG in <img> or when doing the same thing in Edge, so I was wondering if this some kind of Chrome-specific bug? Or is something else that can be causing the problem?

  • I imagine it's a Chrome bug.
