I try to get Client's IP address of a Web API Request. With some search, I found the below code.
I tested the code in my server and it returned server IP Address instead of client IPAddress.
Is it needed to pass the value to IPAddress from request?
if (request.Properties.ContainsKey("MS_HttpContext"))
return ((HttpContextWrapper)request.Properties["MS_HttpContext"]).Request.UserHostAddress;
else if (request.Properties.ContainsKey(RemoteEndpointMessageProperty.Name))
RemoteEndpointMessageProperty prop;
prop = (RemoteEndpointMessageProperty)request.Properties[RemoteEndpointMessageProperty.Name];
return prop.Address;
else
return null;
I expected to get the IPAddress of the client, but I get the IP Address of the server
Please correct me if I'm wrong.
