In my web project I am using only spring core. I don't have any @Controller annotation, I only have DAO (@Repository) and Service layers (@Service).

In this case can i skip my servlet-mapping entry for spring dispatcher?

 <servlet-name>springdispatcher</servlet-name>
 <url-pattern>/</url-pattern>
 </servlet-mapping>

If I use this entry, I have having issues in loading CSS and JS files because I have not handled them in my spring config xml.
