I have a shell script I am running in the hook BeforeInstall. I no it does indeed run but it is not deleting a file I am telling it to. The file is owned by the user tomcat. I have the runas set to root.
Why will it not delete the file? If I manually delete the file with sudo then it does delete. I tried to run it with the runas set to tomcat but I get the following error "Script at specified location: /tester.sh run as user tomcat failed with exit code 127".
I would assume when the runas is set to root then I can delete anything - like sudo.
I have the following appspec.yml file
version: 0.0
os: linux
files:
- source: /WebContent
destination: /usr/local/tomcat/webapps/ROOT
hooks:
ApplicationStop:
- location: tester.sh
runas: root
Here is the tester.sh:
#!/bin/bash
rm /usr/local/tomcat/webapps/ROOT/WEB-INF/web.xml
web.xml never gets deleted.
