I have been tried to understand how to implement my logic to cache the multiple pages to display through one action method, it works fine with an initial page however when I try to retrieve the subsequent pages, it does not pull the data from the server, as it's obvious that it gets the data from the cache with a same key and does not hit the backend API server until sliding expiration time over. It displays the same page irrespective of click on different pages. Code follows:-
private readonly IMemoryCache _cache;
private readonly WebAPIService _service;
private static readonly string _slugKey = "slug";
private static readonly TimeSpan _defaultCacheDuration = TimeSpan.FromMinutes(5);
public CachePolicy(IMemoryCache cache, WebAPIService service)
_cache = cache;
_service = service;
public async Task<DisplayDto> GetPostBySlug(string slug)
return await _cache.GetOrCreateAsync(_slugKey, async entry =>
entry.SlidingExpiration = _defaultCacheDuration;
return await _service.GetPostBySlug(slug);
);
