I can't figure out how to access fields in document level scripts in adobe acrobat pdf files. I have time entry validation/format script, that i have put in validation section, but i have many fields that need to use it. I'd rather have a document level function, that i could just call by passing entered value parameter but this is where i fall short.
For this i have a document level function that replaces a string character:
function replaceAt(str, index, replacement)
return str.substr(0, index) + replacement+ str.substr(index + replacement.length);
And the function i want to put in validation field if timeValidate() which looks like this:
function timeValidate() [0-1][0-9])(:)([0-5][0-9])$/;
if(RE_24hr.test(hhmm) == false)
//Change color to red if invalid value enterd
event.target.textColor = ["RGB",1,0,0];
else
//Proper values set to black, ant apply formated value HH:mm
event.target.textColor = ["RGB",0,0,0];
event.value = hhmm ;
Basically whatever i enter into field in converts into proper time format HH:mm. I've tried with scand function, but it requires full date to operate hours and minutes. So i'm just looking to pass event data to the function
